5 natural tips for a lovely sun-kissed skin this summer

With the arrival of beautiful sunny days, more than ever we want to show off a lovely complexion and radiant skin! Always passionate about natural healing, Joëlle Guillemot, founder of Omnisens, shares her 5 natural tips for having a beautiful, sun-kissed, and even skin tone all summer long!

The benefits of the carrot for the skin

Thanks to its concentration of provitamins and beta-carotene, the carrot offers many health benefits. This vegetable, one of the most grown worldwide, stands out for its nutritional richness as well as its strong antioxidant power. Inexpensive, easy to cook, and able to be eaten in many forms, the carrot is a vitamin-rich ally for our skin:

  • Rich in vitamin C, the carrot promotes collagen production: a vital protein for maintaining the suppleness and elasticity of the skin.
  • Thanks to its exceptional concentration of beta-carotene, which gives it its bright orange color, the carrot helps the skin naturally protect itself from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Thus, it effectively prevents skin aging.
  • Detoxifying and purifying, the carrot also has a cleansing action particularly beneficial for acne-prone skin or skin prone to excess oil.

How to consume it?

To preserve all its nutritional richness and benefit from all its virtues, it is best to eat the carrot raw or lightly steamed! Eating raw carrot also has an advantage from a dietary point of view. Indeed, the glycemic index of the carrot, which is low when raw (30), is almost tripled once cooked (85)!

In summer, we love the carrot:

  • As fresh juice, alone or with organic lemon and orange, for a vitamin-packed drink.
  • Grated, served with a drizzle of olive oil and organic lemon, sprinkled with a few sprigs of coriander for maximum freshness.
  • As crunchy sticks for a snack at aperitif time or a healthy nibble during the day.

We cannot say it enough! Whatever the season, whatever your age or activity level: drinking water is the key to good health and balanced, beautiful skin!

This simple advice takes on a whole new meaning in summer. With heat, long journeys, and sun exposure, many factors can lead to dehydration. So more than ever, remember to carry a steel water bottle with you and drink at least 1.5 liters of water per day, and up to 3 liters in case of intense physical activity.

Putting on your trainers to stay fit, maintain good heart health, or keep in shape is something we are used to. But did you know that doing sports is also good for the skin?

When we exercise, we activate all our elimination organs: the liver, kidneys, lungs, intestines, and finally the skin! These organs help remove toxins and thus play a cleansing role for the whole body.

Sweating also plays a role in having beautiful skin! Activated by heat, blood microcirculation increases when we sweat, thus improving the flow to skin cells. Pores empty of their impurities, and the skin expels all accumulated toxins. The complexion is brighter, and the skin smoother and clearer.

So, as you can see, to have beautiful skin, a calm mind, and a healthy body: move! Take advantage of the long summer days and mild temperatures to enjoy outdoor activities: open water swimming, hiking, outdoor yoga… it’s your turn!

Disconnecting and beautiful skin, no connection? Yet, there is.

You know that at Omnisens, we advocate a whole-person approach to beauty and well-being. For us, bodily beauty and peace of mind are closely linked, which is why our last tip for beautiful skin may be the most important: disconnect!

Take time for yourself: go outside for fresh air and soak up vitamin D, read, move, breathe: all 100% natural and beneficial treatments that will do as much good for your skin as the best anti-aging care… or almost!

Joëlle Guillemot and the entire Omnisens team wish you a wonderful summer!
