Tutorial: Enjoy All the Benefits of a Massage at Home
Lack of exercise, stress, tensions… For many of us, this winter period puts our body and mind to the test. To reconnect with calm and well-being, and to offer yourself a true moment of relaxation, we provide you with a complete guide to perform a genuine massage at home, whether you are alone or with a partner!
Indeed, it is not necessary to be a professional to practice a simple and beneficial massage. And nothing beats a soothing massage to relax the muscles, let go, and share a moment of closeness with your loved one. From choosing the product to the techniques to adopt, we share all our secrets and a step-by-step guide!
1- CHOOSE YOUR MASSAGE OIL WELL
Each type of massage corresponds to the ideal product to perform it. If you want a soothing and sensual massage, then choose a rich oil. Fans of pistachio macarons will appreciate the irresistible scent of Delice Pistachio oil, rich in sweet almond oil, while lovers of exotic scents evoking travel will be won over by Delice Passion oil, enriched with camellia, sweet almond, and cotton oils.
If you are looking for a less slippery and more firm massage, choose a dry oil made from a blend of hazelnut, apricot kernel, and other vegetable oils. Treat yourself to a comforting and cozy break with our best-selling Reflets de Soie oil, or a draining and detoxifying massage thanks to our Thé Tonique oil!
Finally, for an unmatched sensory experience, we absolutely love a massage with Delice Lemon balm – rich in shea butter. Creaminess and an irresistible scent await you!
2- OUR STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO GIVE A BACK MASSAGE TO YOUR PARTNER
If you live as a couple, nothing beats a soothing and enveloping massage for your loved one to offer a true feeling of relaxation. We share with you our 6-step guide for a professional-quality back massage.
#Step 1 :
Apply the massage oil on the back, shoulders, and arms, move down each side along the spine, and slowly rise back up to the shoulders. Glide towards the outside and inside of the arms, the shoulder blades, and finally the nape. Repeat 3 times.
#Step 2 :
Cross your hands flat at the lower back, and move up to the nape with smoothing movements. Perform the same movement going down from the shoulders to the lower back. Repeat 3 times.
#Step 3 :
Then massage the trapezius muscles with your forearms, applying gentle sliding pressure outward. Repeat 3 times.
#Step 4 :
Next, make rotating pressures with your thumbs starting at the top of the back, gradually moving down along the spine. Be sure to make these rotations on the muscles along the spine, not on the vertebrae heads. Repeat 3 times.
#Step 5 :
Stand to the side. Perform a figure-eight massage starting from the lower back: place both hands joined and flat on one side of the back, then make a long figure-eight movement to the other side of the back. Repeat 4 times.
#Step 6 :
Finish the massage with a back stretch. Place your hands on one side: one crossed over the upper trapezius, the other on the lower back. Press gently while moving up towards the middle of the back. Repeat 2 times per side.
3- ENJOY ALL THE BENEFITS OF A SOLO MASSAGE

Do you live alone? This is the perfect time to indulge in self-massage!
For a complete feeling of well-being, we suggest a full massage from the feet to the top of the head.
Start with a foot massage, making circular movements with your thumbs on the arch of the foot and moving up towards the toes.
Then treat yourself to a draining leg massage, making smooth and lively movements from the ankles to the knees, and circular movements from the lower thighs up to under the buttocks.
Next, massage the upper arms, shoulders, and the nape, then the forearms, and finally the hands, gently pulling each finger.
To finish, offer yourself a pure moment of relaxation with a scalp massage. To do this, slide your fingers through your hair, pressing firmly while making circular motions on the temples, the base of the neck, and finally the top of the forehead.
4 – AS A BONUS: OUR 5 GOLDEN RULES FOR A SUCCESSFUL MASSAGE!
- The temperature of your hands: They must always be warm so as not to startle or tense the person you are massaging.
- The smoothness of the movements: Avoid sudden and jerky motions, especially when changing technique.
- The speed: The slower and more regular the movements, the stronger the relaxing effect.
- The pressure: The lighter the pressure, the more relaxing it is, but that does not mean that firmer pressure cannot be applied during a relaxing massage! As the person relaxes, the pressure can be increased.
- The contact: It is important to maintain contact with the person you are massaging even when using one hand. Continuous contact gives a feeling of calm and security.
